Steamboat Hot Springs is located just outside of Reno, Nevada and offers visitors the chance to experience natural volcanic healing waters, comprised of rare minerals found nowhere else in the United States. Steamboat Hot Springs offers traditional spa services, such as the famous hot and cool geothermal mineral baths, detoxifying mud wraps, and salt and sugar glows, as well as some alternative therapies.

Steamboat Hot Springs Healing Center is a historic landmark, registered with the State of Nevada. Legend has it that Mark Twain named Steamboat when he was working for the Territorial Enterprise in Virginia City. It is said when he saw the steam emerging from the earth, he exclaimed: "Behold! A steamboat in the desert."
The hot springs at Steamboat have been important throughout Nevada’s history. Native people came to Steamboat from all over the western part of the continent to use the spring’s water prior to the arrival of settlers in the early 1800s. It was a stopping place for settlers on their way to California, a stage-coach station, an early post office and a hospital in the 1860s, as well as a grand hotel. Steamboat was located on the famous Lincoln Highway and was the last stop to Reno on the V&T railroad. In the 1920 s and 1930 s it was a famous healing spa. Throughout its history, Steamboat’s waters have been valued for their healing properties.
Steamboat Hot Springs is located about seven miles south of Reno on Route 395 on the way to Carson City. Today, Steamboat is the only operating hot springs in the Truckee Meadows. Not only does Steamboat offer traditional spa services, such as the famous hot and cool geothermal mineral baths, detoxifying mud wrap, and salt and sugar glows, but also alternative therapies in the field of vibrational healing — from Steamboat’s signature Sonatherapy(tm), to Cymatic therapy, Chakra light therapy and Crystal bowl therapy. Steamboat also offers naturopathic physician services, whole self care counseling, energy balance counseling and a variety of classes, courses and seminars.
