The Reno Philharmonic invites you to join us for Classix, a six-concert series highlighting the best in symphonic classics, performed by the superb Reno Philharmonic Orchestra with world-renowned guest soloists. Join music director Laura Jackson and the Reno Phil for a season of musical experiences that will empower and inspire.
The Reno Philharmonic Association, opening its 45th season in September 2013, is northern Nevada’s largest and most prominent performing arts organization with something for all tastes from Classical to Pop. The heart of the season is Classix, a six-concert series highlighting the best in symphonic classics, performed by the superb Reno Philharmonic Orchestra with world-renowned guest soloists.
Unless otherwise noted, performances are held at the Pioneer Center for the Performing arts in Reno, Nevada. The orchestra, led by music director Laura Jackson, includes over 80 professional musicians and performs more than 30 concerts annually. The Reno Phil’s extensive education programs include three youth orchestras and school-aligned programs in which 300 students play in ensembles each week. Through patrons, donors and sponsors, over one million dollars is raised each year. In addition, a growing legacy society funds an endowment currently at $2.5 million that ensures that the Reno Phil will thrive through future generations.
A staff of five full-time employees and six part-time employees manage the day-to-day operations of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. With 600 musicians within the Reno Phil community – including the orchestra, chorus and youth programs – the organization plays to over 50,000 people each year, including an estimated 25,000 students. www.renophil.com.
