Lita Ford talks sex — ‘It ain't no big thing'

Lita Ford has a new album and don't expect to hear her complain about not getting laid after a party on a Saturday night.
“Wicked Wonderland,” Ford's first album in 15 years, was released Sept. 28. It was written and produced by Ford, her husband, Jim Gillette, and Greg Hampton. Ford described it as a “sexual autobiography.”
Gillette and Ford had some trepidation about releasing some of the songs they had written.
“We talked about it and wondered, ‘Should we write an autobiography about our frickin' sex life?' ” Gillette said. “ ‘Should we let people see this?' We thought about it and said, ‘Let's do it. It's us. It's from the heart. It's real.' ”
Ford and Gillette spoke to Lake Tahoe Action the day after their first show on a tour with Queensr˙che. The tour stops at Harrah's Lake Tahoe on Nov. 7.
Gillette said he would never cheat on his wife, a heavy metal sex symbol in the 1980s and '90s.
“It just doesn't make sense to me,” he said. “You've got a wife. Hey, why don't you tell her what you've been fantasizing about? She just might say, ‘Hey that sounds awesome. That's how it happened for us. Neither one of us had gotten into this freaky stuff before. Our love life's better 15 years after we got married than it was the day we got married.”
Ford may best be known for her duet with Ozzy Osbourne, “Close My Eyes Forever,” and her not-getting-any-action lament, “Kiss Me Deadly.”
Ford and Gillette will discuss their album and tour with Queensr˙che in the Nov. 6 issue of Lake Tahoe Action.
