This summer kick-off the season with a trip back to North Lake Tahoe for Tahoe City’s Annual Heart & Solstice Festival on June 18-21. This unique event brings together four days of family events, activities and good old fashion free fun on the lake.

The Festivities begin on Thursday, June 18, with the Tahoe City Farmer’s Market at Commons Beach. The market will be open for all ages and tastes from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Once you’ve cruised the isles and filled your belly, it’s time for the Solstice Classic Car Stroll down North Lake Tahoe Blvd. on the shores of Lake Tahoe. View more than 75 fabulous vintage and classic cars as you stroll through town from 6 to 8 p.m.

Day two of the Festival celebrates Tahoe City’s distinct heritage with a 100-year birthday celebration of the Watson Cabin (the oldest building in Tahoe City). Join the North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce and the North Lake Tahoe Historical Society for a Centennial Celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. Then continue your night at one of Tahoe City’s fine restaurants and enjoy live music from the Trey Stone Band at Wolfdales and Sheldon Felich & Bud Worrell at the Jake’s On The Lake Paddlefest Pre-Party.

Wake up Saturday morning and hit the water for the Second Annual Tahoe City PaddleFest, presented by Tahoe City Kayak. Taho ‘e Nalu and Tahoe SUP. Try your hand at the three-mile race course in either a kayak or stand-up paddle board. Registration begins at Commons Beach at 9 a.m. Not a racer? Enjoy a demo or explore the exhibitor village on the beach.

Take a quick break for some lunch in town and then grab your sweetheart or friends and family for the Third Annual Solstice Sip & Shop Wine Walk from 2 to 6 p.m. through Downtown Tahoe City. Browse distinctive jewelry, fine art, and taste unique dining at one of the eclectic mix of restaurants and shops that line the downtown area, while enjoying live local music and over 50 varietals from the Napa and Sonoma regions as well as local wineries.

Finish off your weekend at the lake with An Old Fashion Day at the Beach — treat Dad to an afternoon of live music and backyard barbecue presented by the Tahoe City Public Utility District and the Tahoe City Downtown Association. Sunday marks the start of Tahoe City’s annual Concerts at Commons Beach live music series with performances by Truckee Tribe, Subjekt2Change, Montana Slim and local singer/songwriter Neva.
