Chow: Rookies

The Space
Head into Rookies when you are hungry. Don’t even worry what time it is because they serve food day and night except between 3 and 6 a.m. Rookies is located right off State Highway 28 in Incline Village, in the Raley's Shopping area where parking is easy. Not only can you find great food whenever you are hungry, the prices are designed for all budgets.
The Food
Rookies has menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a separate menu just for pizzas. All of their food is cooked on a big grill across from the counter so you can even watch your order being prepared if you can tear your attention away from one of the many televisions playing sports.
If you like burgers, don’t miss the chance to try one of Rookies’ juicy creations such as the Iditarod — a mushroom burger with cheddar cheese and sautéed mushrooms that comes with an order of fries. But don’t overlook their great sandwich selection including the favorite Club House or the Chicken Club, which are popular lunch selections.
The Drinks
Being a sports bar, drinks include everything from beer to wine, with a full selection of mixed drinks too. They feature Happy Hour from 3 to 7 p.m. and offer a nice selection of appetizers. Chips and salsa, nachos, wings, gator skins and zucchini sticks are available to add to Happy Hour drink specials.
Gotta Try
Vegetarians will love the Southwestern Veggie Wrap — a diced, grilled veggie patty, guacamole, salsa, lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, mixed greens and cheeses as well as corn tortilla strips in a wrap served with both sour cream and ranch dressing. Pick any one of the wraps which range from $9.79 to $10.99 and you will not be disappointed.
Tidbit
Lunch is a wonderful opportunity to stop in and check out what's happening on the sports scene while you catch lunch. Choices include salads, sandwiches, wraps and of course all your favorite burgers.
Price Range
The breakfast menu features an egg sandwich for $3.49 or a veggie scramble for $7.99 as well as the “best Mexican eggs benedict in town” for $6.99. Of course you can find pancakes and French toast too. Pizzas are available from $6.99 to $8.99. Steak dinners can be ordered fro $24.99 for a 16 oz rib eye or $24.99 for a 14 oz. New York $12.75. Other prices range from appetizers between $5.29 and $10.29, Salads $7.99 to $10.99, Burgers between $8.79 and $11.99 and sandwiches run $8.99 to $10.99.
