33rd annual Dick Linkey Rotary Ski Challenge
When: 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27
Where: Alpine Meadows Ski Resort
Join in the largest Rotarian Ski Challenge again this year while racing on a gentle Giant Slalom ski course. This event is lots of fun for all ages at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. Awards will be presented for first, second and third.
Snowbomb presents the Toyota Sick & Twisted Freestyle Tour
Time: Registration 9-10:30 a.m. Contest starts at 11 a.m.

See who’s got the best moves in the halfpipe competition at Boreal Mountain Resort Feb. 28 and in the Slopestyle at Diamond Peak March 1. This tour showcases local talent in more than 12 events per season and awards more than $25,000 in cash and prizes.
Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue’s Great Ski Race
Start: 9 a.m. Sunday, March 1
Where: Start at Tahoe XC in Tahoe City, finish at Cottonwood Restaurant in Truckee
Cross country ski racers from all over the world will embark on the 33rd Annual Great Ski Race, a pilgrimage of sorts among XC skiers of all ability levels and competitive streaks. The 30K race begins at the Tahoe Cross Country Center, climbing 12K to the soup station before descending to the finish at the Cottonwood Restaurant in Truckee.
Make a date for your party on skis by pre-registering for the race at www.thegreatskirace.com. Adult registration is $45 before race day, $25 for juniors under 18, and $65 for all on race day.
Register early to take advantage of $11 all-day “training” trail passes at Tahoe City Cross Country. The course will be groomed to the soup station so racers can “get the climb in their minds” before race day.
‘Wacky Winter Bowling’ sponsored by Tahoe City Downtown Association
When: Registration at 9 a.m. day of event; Contest at 10 a.m. March 1
Where: Tahoe City Golf Course, behind Bank of America in Tahoe City
Cost: Under 18 $10/team; 18+ $25/team (3 people per team, 1 to ride in saucer for each heat)

Fly down the “bowling lane” on a snow saucer and take out as many giant blow-up bozo bowling pins as you can. Each team gets (2) chances to knock down the greatest number of bowling pins. Prizes given for Wackiest Helmet, Wackiest Dressed Team and bowling winners in each age group.
Interpretive X-Country Ski Tour of 1960 Olympic Nordic Trails

Re-live the dreams of the Olympic athletes on this 8km ski tour of the 1960 Winter Olympic XC ski trails, led by Olympic historian Dave Antonucci, this ski will be approximately 2.5 hours long. Advanced beginners and up.

Geo-Snow Quest Adventure
Hosted by the Sierra Watershed Education Partnerships (SWEP), learn how to use GPS, maps and avalanche beacons in this snowbound adventure quest. Participants of all ages search on skis for clue caches hidden around the trails of the Tahoe Cross Country Center. Win prizes and stay for apres hot cocoa in the Winter Discovery Center Yurt.

Java Hut’s 2nd Annual Dodgeball Tourney

Inaugural Ta-Hoe Nalu Arctic Standup Paddleboard Race
Come on out and get your chill on for this NEW annual SnowFest event! A one-mile Stand-Up Paddle Sprint Race, on Lake Tahoe in March. Make sure to stick around afterwards for the festivities including music by the Truckee Tribe.

4th Annual Tahoe Donner Association ‘I-dida-Run’
This Donner Party themed dog pull race will pit dogs against dogs while pulling covered wagon sleds over a course. Proceeds to benefit the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe & The National Kidney Foundation in the memory of John Carr.
