Storms, storms and more storms

The storm door has opened. Or so the weather forecasters say. This past Sunday brought over a foot of fresh snow to the Tahoe region (almost two feet if you believe what the ski resort Public Relations folks are saying), and a renewed faith in winter to the visitors and locals lucky enough to get out of work on Monday.

And there's more on the way if the weather predictions hold true.

All of which means that Tahoe is setting up to be THE place to be this President's' Day weekend. Fresh snow, a three-day weekend, and literally hundreds of special events going on all around the lake.

So don't hesitate. Take Friday off and avoid the crowds for a day. Plan to stay through Tuesday just for fun. Just get up here and get ready for a good time.

See you in Tahoe,

--The Powderhound

Unable to ski with a broken femur at the time, he called on his cousin Kevin to give them a test run. The feedback was encouraging.

"They were so good, so perfect," Kevin said. "I didn't know what to say because I was having so much fun on them."
