What's happening, powderhounds?

We're getting Tahoe ready for an influx of visitors this Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend. With ample snow on the ground, there should be plenty of skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, and other winter sports available for all. And with clear skies in the forecast, getting to Tahoe for a three-day mini vacation shouldn't be tough at all.

So pack up that car and don't forget the sunscreen. You'll need it for all that Northern California/Nevada sunshine.

Firm conditions make for perfect cross country ski trails

It's been a little while since the last storm dropped fresh snow on Lake Tahoe (a little too long for the Powderhound's liking), but the firm conditions are perfect for getting out on the cross country trails around the Tahoe Basin and burning off a few calories. Check out our guide to Lake Tahoe cross country resorts below.

The new shuttle provides Bay Area and Sacramento area skiers with an environmentally-friendly and cost-effective mode of transportation.
