Tahoe.com and Boreal Mountain Resort teamed up for a fun day on the slopes on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009. It was a perfect Tahoe ski day, with cold and clear skies, plenty of sunshine, and a great crowd of skiers and riders enjoying the terrain that Boreal has to offer. Lake Tahoe Mountain Experts:
Northstar's Matt Reeder

When Northstar-At-Tahoe Snow Surfaces Manager Matt Reeder arrived for work at 11 p.m. the night before the resort's Dec. 6 opening day, all weather forecasts pointed to yet another classic round in his battle to open the slopes.

The stakes were high in that night's prize fight as guests would arrive just a few hours after dawn, and the ski runs projected to open still needed significant snow coverage. Squaw Valley's newest eatery: Twenty-Two Bistro & Bar

The menu at Twenty-Two is stacked with upscale, flavorful "social plates," providing the opportunity to try a variety of unique and tasty combinations without going overboard. Also on the menu you'll find a few soups, salads, burgers and sammies, a few entrees, side dishes and "sliders" (mini burgers served in pairs). Billy McCullough, head chef and owner of Dragonfly, the successful Cal Asian dining room in Downtown Truckee's Commercial Row, brings his signature expertise into Twenty-Two. The only difference being the menu at Twenty-Two has more of a "New American" flair than Cal Asian.
