South Lake Tahoe New Year's Eve parties

South Lake Tahoe’s Blue Fire and Ice New Year’s Eve family celebration (http://www.BlueLakeTahoe.com) will include live music, spectacular ice statues and carving demonstrations, jugglers and fire dancers, Dec. 31, from 5 – 7 p.m.
The event is free at Ski Run Marina, a lakeside shopping and restaurant center, at Ski Run Blvd. and Hwy 50 on the California side, one mile from Stateline. Several illuminated ice sculptures will be on display with a live ice carving demonstration by Ed Winslow, a local artist.
Fire Pixie Fire Performers will heat up the night with dancing, twirling, juggling and swallowing fire to high-energy tribal dance music. Darin Talbot, local folk artist, will perform his original tunes about Lake Tahoe with his band.
Free shuttle rides on South Lake Tahoe’s public transportation system, BlueGo, are available. For route details and times visit BlueGo Bus Routes.

New Year's Eve parties at South Lake Tahoe Casinos
For high-spirited revelry at the Stateline casinos to ring in the New Year, MontBleu Resort presents Midnight Blu, New Year’s Eve celebration 2009. The party at VEX includes a champagne toast, midnight balloon drop, female and male Go-Go Dancers decked out in extravagant Moulin Rouge themed attire performing overhead on bridges that crisscross the dance floor.
