Skiing for Schools dates

Skiing for Schools raises money for the Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education Foundation through discounted tickets at local resorts. The dates are:

* Squaw Valley USA - Saturday, Dec. 14, discounted lift tickets are available online at www.Squawshop.com.

* Sugar Bowl - Saturday, Dec. 20

* Northstar-at-Tahoe - Sunday, Jan. 4 (tickets also available online at www.porterstahoe.com.)

* Homewood Community Benefit Day - Sunday, March 15, tickets available at the resort.

* Sugar Bowl - Saturday, March 21

* Alpine Meadows Community Benefit Day - Sunday, April 5, tickets available at the resort.

Aside from the Homewood and Alpine Meadows days, Skiing for Schools days will have a limited number of tickets available for purchase ($25) at all Porters locations (Truckee, Tahoe City and Incline Village) on a first come, first served basis. Squaw Valley - Frequent Skier & Snowboarder Program allows visitors to ski four days and get the fifth day free. To join, simply register online for $5 (or at any ticket window for $10), then after you ski any four days the fifth day is free. Members can ski and ride every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for just $69.

Squaw Valley - The Squaw Club, for full-time residents of the Reno/Tahoe Area, Squaw Valley has a special offer of $49 lift tickets every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. Join one time at Special Tickets for just $5 and go direct to lift for every subsequent ticket.

Deals for resort season passholders

Sugar Bowl – present your pass to another resort and receive $10 off ticket price.
Homewood Mountain Resort - $25 adult tickets for passholders from any mountain, starting Thursday, Jan. 9. Must register online at www.skihomewood.com.

Diamond Peak - show a 2008/2009 season pass from any other ski area and Diamond Peak will give you a lift ticket for just $35.

Northstar - $64, afternoon rates any day for passholders from other resorts.

Mt. Rose - $37, season passholders from other resorts (midweek/non-holiday)

Deals for college students

Northstar - College Week offers $56 lift tickets on Jan. 5-11 and 24-30; March 16-28; April 6-12.

Boreal offers $20 lift tickets on Fridays, with some blackout dates.

Squaw Valley - College students ski and ride for only $49 Mon-Thurs by getting a coupon online, or get the all new College Season Pass for just $299.

Mt. Rose - College discounts are $20 off midweek, non-holiday.

Boreal offers $20 lift tickets on Fridays for all active military with a valid ID.

Homewood Mountain Resort - Active military personnel ski free at Homewood Mountain Resort, including holidays. Present current military ID at any Homewood ticket window to receive an adult, full-day lift ticket. Active duty military family members receive 50 percent off lift tickets any day, including holidays.

Diamond Peak - Anyone who has a valid military ID (active, reservists, and retirees) is eligible to receive a free Diamond Peak lift ticket (midweek, non-holiday) by showing a valid ID at the ticket windows. Purchase a $39 lift ticket for weekends and holidays.

Squaw Valley - Free lift tickets to all active duty military personnel during the 08/09 winter season. Simply bring an active military duty ID to our Special Tickets office for a free lift ticket. This discount does not apply to Academy and Reservists. Blackout dates are Dec. 25 through Jan. 4, Jan. 17-19and Feb. 14-16.

Northstar - Active duty military free, Sundays, non-holiday.

Mt. Rose - Discounted lift ticket vouchers are available for purchase to Department of Defense personnel via the Military Ticket Program (MTP). The Lift Ticket Vouchers must be pre-purchased prior to arrival at Mt. Rose – Ski Tahoe through participating bases’ MWR/ITT offices. For a listing of participating locations or to add a base to the program, please contact MTP office at (619) 767-6000.

Donner Ski Ranch - Ski for $20 on Mondays and Fridays, non-holiday.

Deals for local students

Diamond Peak - Kids in grades K-12 can purchase a lift ticket for $1 on school closure days. Only applies to Incline Village/Crystal Bay schools.

Squaw Valley - Join the Squaw Club for $10 and then ski and ride for just $10 every Sunday, school holiday and snow day. Residents of Truckee, North Tahoe, South Lake Tahoe, Incline Village and Stateline are eligible for this program.

Northstar- Local Student (North Tahoe, Truckee, Incline Village) $5, Sundays, Wednesday afternoons, plus Ski & Skate week (non-holiday).

Tahoe Donner - School Dayz, Beginning Monday, Jan. 5, Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area will be offering a midweek discount to all students, Tuesdays – Thursdays, throughout the rest of the season. Offer valid during non-holiday periods only. Bring your student ID. Children $11, Adults $20.

Squaw Valley - On Wednesdays (every Wednesday for North Tahoe Middle School and every other Wednesday for Alder Creek Middle School) the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District bus will drop students off at the entrance to Squaw Valley USA where they will be picked up by the Squaw Valley Ski Shuttle and can spend Wednesday afternoon skiing and riding Squaw for only $5!

Homewood - Local students can ski for $7 from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Plus honor roll students from Truckee and North Tahoe high schools can earn a free lift ticket with a 3.75 GPA or a 3.5 GPA with perfect attendance.

The Alpine Club – Membership costs $10 and gives you 10 percent off adult lift tickets; 4-Packs for 15 percent savings; 39 days at $39; plus savings on lessons, food, equipment and free events. Can purchase tickets online and skip the ticket lines.

Alpine Meadows Community Benefit Day - Sunday, April 5, discounted tickets available at the resort.



Boreal
Regular adult lift ticket is $52 holiday, and $47 daily.

iRIDE – Rewards card gives you a third day of skiing or riding free after the purchase of two all-day lift tickets. Give Boreal your email and more iRide discounts will be coming throughout the season.

College Students – Lift tickets are $20 on Fridays. Bring a valid college student ID and ski/ride for just $20. Holiday blackouts include Nov. 28, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.

Armed Forces - Boreal offers $20 lift tickets on Fridays for all active military with a valid ID.

Raleys – Discount coupons for children’s lift tickets and children’s ski school program.



Diamond Peak
Regular adult lift ticket is $49 daily.

The Mini Pass – Buy a mini pass for 2, 3, 5, or 7 days and receive discounts on tickets, works like a gift card.

Costco Gift Cards - Diamond Peak Gift Cards (good for two all day adult lift tickets) for sale at select Costco locations for $72.99. There are also Lake Tahoe Family Ski & Ride packages at Costco.

Learn to Ski and Ride Week for $29 on Jan. 12-16. Package includes equipment rentals, 1 hour, 45 minute lesson and a lift ticket.

Local’s Lunch - $20 gets you a lift ticket valid from 11 am – 1 pm, Monday – Friday, non-holiday.

Students in grades K-12 can purchase a lift ticket for $1 on school closure days. Only applies to Incline Village/Crystal Bay schools.

Community Appreciation Days - If you live within a 50-mile radius of Diamond Peak then you can purchase a $20 adult lift ticket (when you show proof of residency) on these dates: Dec. 11, Jan. 21, March 17, and April 12.

Regular adult lift ticket is $40 weekend/holiday, and $30 midweek.

Military, fire, police and students ski for $20 on Mondays and Fridays, non-holiday.

Learn to Turn packages are $40 for adults and $35 for children and include ticket, rental and group lesson on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Midweek discounts - Lift tickets are only $20 for adults, $16 for youth and $8 for children on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Homewood Mountain Resort
Regular adult lift ticket is $58 holidays, $53 Fri-Sun/Peak, and $39 non-holiday M-Thurs.

Six-Pack Lift Tickets - Ski or ride Northstar Resort anytime with the Six-Pack and save up to 30 percent. Cost is $299, which reduces the daily cost to less than $50 per day. Six-Pack is non-transferable and limited to one ticket per day. No blackout dates. Must purchase before Dec. 15.

Ski Shops - Value Season Vouchers. Visit a partner shop, pick up a free voucher, and bring it to Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort for a $56 lift ticket or Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort for a $51 lift ticket. Vouchers valid from season opening through Dec. 24; Jan. 2 - 16; and March 20 through the end of the 2009 season.

College Week- Just bring your current student ID to the Tickets and Season Pass Office located in the Village at Northstar™ and receive a $56 lift ticket on these dates – Jan. 5-11 and 24-30; March 16-28; April 6-12.

Vertical Plus™ Membership - Make the most out of each turn. Your vertical feet earn you awards and discounts with our frequent visitor program. As a bonus, you can avoid any long lift lines. Vertical Plus members can slide right in to the members-only lift lines.

equipment rentals.



Sugar Bowl
Regular adult lift ticket is $72 holiday, and $66 daily.

Daily Core - $19 preseason membership allows skiers a $10 discount off every ticket, plus two of your friends receive the discount for the day as well. Tied to your credit card, this picture pass allows you to go directly to the lift, no more ticket lines.

Free rental and lesson – Monday through Friday, non-holiday, ages 13-69, can have a free rental and two-hour lesson (for any level) with purchase of a lift ticket.

Passholders of other resorts can receive a $10 discount.

Regular adult lift ticket is $36.

Website Wednesday Special Offers - Every Wednesday during non-holiday periods, Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area will be offering some great deals on skiing. Please click on the day you will be visiting the ski area and print out the relevant online coupon. Bring the coupon with you to the ski area when you come skiing to redeem the special offer. Offers are valid on the specified Wednesday only.

Parent's Day – Every Tuesday! Moms and Dads, bring your under 13 year old skier to Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area for a day of skiing and receive a complimentary all day lift ticket. That's right, get a great deal for your child and you ski for free. Excludes holiday periods.

Everyone's a Local Thursdays!- Everyone receives the local's discount every Thursday during non-holiday periods. Children $11, Adults $20. Excludes holiday periods.
