Beginning Handbuilding Tuesdays July 29 - Sept 2 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Cost $180
Handbuilding is an alternative way of making functional and sculptural ceramics. We will begin with basic information about clay and commonly used tools. Each week we will delve into a different construction process such as pinch pots, coils, and slabs.
Beginning Wheel Throwing Tuesdays July 29 – Sept 2 5:30 – 8 p.m. Cost $180
This is the class to learn the basics of Wheel-thrown pottery. Each class will have a demonstration with super cool tips. The beginning potter will work on the wheel to learn the basic skills like centering and throwing bowl and cylinder forms.
Intermediate Wheel Throwing Thursdays July 24 - Aug 28 5:30- 8 p.m. Cost $180
So you feel comfortable with basic throwing (centering and throwing cylinder and bowl shapes), The intermediate/ advanced students will be learning more advanced functional and decorative projects such as dinnerware, lidded jars and casseroles, goblets, two-piece vases, etc.
Mini Beginners Wheel Throwing Sunday July 27 - Aug. 10 & Aug. 17-30 2- 4:30 p.m. Cost $115
A shorter class for those people who have always wanted to try the potter’s wheel but don’t want to make an 6 week commitment until they were sure they liked it. People who have never worked in clay are welcome. (See Beginners Wheel Throwing above)
Drop-in Clay Day, Aug. 9
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and for only $25, spend three hours playing in clay. An excellent time for adults, who are interested in experimenting with hand building clay or wheel throwing. All levels welcome. This is the perfect time to find out if you want to learn more while having a fun relaxed time. Cost includes 3 hrs of studio time and 5 lbs of clay, more can be purchased. Drop-in fills quickly, reservations encouraged to guarantee a spot.
