Shakespeare on the Lake, July 9 - Aug. 17
It's that time of year again to head on over to Sand Harbor State Park for a little 'Bard on the beach.' Wednesday, July 9 through Sunday, Aug. 17 take advantage of nightly performances on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Wednesday, the series opens with the evil tale of Richard the III followed by a Thursday showing of A Mid Summer Nights Dream. The playbill alternates between these two Shakespeare classics every night through Aug. 17 except on Mondays when CAMBIO, a Cuban love story, owns the stage. Jen Chapin, July 18 & 19 Jen Chapin, the jazz singer praised for her “first-rate storytelling” and daughter of the late singer-songwriter Harry Chapin, will give two free shows at Moody’s Bistro & Lounge on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19. Chapin is known for holding an audience spellbound with her beautiful voice and her ability to weave stories into her songs. Click here to read more!

Woody Guthrie, the balladeer and crusader against high rents, low wages, loan sharks, greedy bankers and lying politicians will be coming straight from the Oklahoma dust bowl, the Texas oil boom towns gone bust, the long lonesome Lincoln Highway, and the migrant worker camps of California to a campfire near you. Enjoy the sounds and lyrics of this living folk legend under the stars and by the fire at Sorenson Resort in Hope Valley, just south of Lake Tahoe. Suggested donation is $10, which will be matched by Sorensen’s for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada
