In the Lake Tahoe's mountain air your disc is sure to fly farther, but can you negotiate the towering Ponderosa Pines, extreme elevation gains and sticky Manzanita? Here's five places you can go for an inexpensive day on the course!
Truckee River Disc Golf Course
Built on an old landfill, you’ll have to be careful on this course. However, with views of the Truckee River, this course makes a nice afternoon or morning outing. Play Wednesday evenings in the summer and get the bonus of free live music in the Truckee Regional Park amphitheatre after your game.
Stats: 18 holes, free to play, free to park
Getting there: From I-80, exit on Highway 267 to Lake Tahoe. Turn right at the light on Brockway Rd. The park and course are across from the 7-11. From Truckee, follow Donner Pass Rd. through Downtown Truckee, turn left at the stop sign and cross the railroad tracks and river, following the road up the hill. The park is on the left at the top of the hill.
