It's still snowing!

I'm so excited to be redundant this week. It's music to my ears, and I'm guessing yours, as I report the snow is still falling and will continue through this weekend! The storm that started yesterday has left anywhere from 2-13 new inches of snow, depending on the resort. Now that's a broken record I could listen to all day.

To go with our fresh pow, the Lake Tahoe area is hosting a veritable plethora of events the rest of this month, including:

Blue Gay-la ski week, Jan. 23-27.
Diamond Peak celebrates Australia Day, Jan. 26
Squallywood Clinic with Rob Gaffney, Jan. 26
Burton Demo Tour stops at Northstar, Feb. 1-3

Check ski.tahoe.com for more events.

The lowdown on Tahoe snowmobiling -- guided and alone

by Wendy Lautner, tahoe.com

There are a million things to do in Lake Tahoe, but in the winter at least half of them seem to revolve around skiing. Well, what happens when there are a few non-skiers in the family? How can you enjoy Lake Tahoe's grandeur and beauty without a ticket to the slopes?

Snowmobiling is a good option for non-skiers or for folks who are looking to give their legs a break. Chances are if you've made the investment in your own machine, you've put anywhere from $3,000 (used) to $11,000 (new and high end) into your machine and you probably already know what you're doing. More likely, you're interested in renting a snowmobile for the day or joining a tour to explore.
