Dining
Chow: Fifty Fifty Brewing Company
By Greyson Howard, Tahoe World |

Named for a balance of food and beer the owners strive to achieve, the brewpub treats beer like other restaurants may treat wine — pairing brews and dishes to compliment and contrast.
The Space
The recently opened microbrewery still has that new bar smell, and has a simple, clean, yet warm feel to it when you walk in.
Modern furnishings and large glass windows viewing into the massive brushed-metal vats and tuns highlight the space and let you know what this place is all about: The beer.
The whole package is rounded out by a well-stocked bar and an outside dining patio for the warmer months.
The Food
The beer even works itself into the food menu with items ranging from beer battered onion rings to a New York strip steak with a demiglaze made from the breweries own Roundabout stout.
Traditional bar food like burgers and chicken wings are easy choices for the hungry beer drinker, dishes like the grilled salmon are prepared for those looking for something more.
The Drinks
The in-house brewery offers a spectrum of beers from light to dark, with locally inspired names to boot.
Ranging from the light end of the spectrum, the beer menu starts with a Base Camp Golden Ale, Foggy Goggle Belgian White (a wheat beer), Manifesto Pale Ale, Rockslide Indian Pale Ale, Trifecta Belgian Style Tripel (a seasonal high alcohol brew), Donner Party Porter, and finally the Roundabout Oatmeal Stout on the dark end of things.
Gotta Try
Steamed mussels prepared with shallots, garlic, marinated tomatoes in a achiote-golden ail broth with a cold glass of the Trifecta Tripel, or caramelized Ahi with wasabi risotto, glazed baby bok choy, and mango salsa with the Base Camp will hit the spot for seafood lovers.
The house rubbed Baby Back Ribs with onion rings and mashed potatoes kept company by the breweries Donner Party Porter also jumps to the top of the list.
Price Range
From just over $3 for a small salad all the way to $28 for the steak, most items range from $8 to $18.
