The Tahoe Rim Trail Association and Alpenglow Sports are sponsoring the region's first-ever Tahoe Trail Fest, which celebrates all of Tahoe’s beautiful trails. The event will be held at Commons Beach in Tahoe City, Calif. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be an outdoor gear and merchandise expo on the beach featuring companies, such as Mountain Hardware, Jet Boil, Salomon, MSR, Chaco and Lowe Alpine. Other trails associations and local non-profit organizations will also be at the event distributing information and taking part in the festivities.
The Tahoe Rim Trail Association will be offering three different guided hikes for all ages and levels: 1) a segment hike from Barker Pass to Tahoe City (16.7 miles), 2) a wildflower hike from Tahoe City to Page Meadows (eight miles), 3) and the Mt. Rose loop hike that goes by Galena Falls (six miles).
Salomon will be sponsoring a five-mile trail run from Ward Creek Canyon to Tahoe City, lead by one of the Salomon’s sponsored athletes. The gear and tent expo will be going on all day long at Commons Beach. Ending the festivities there will be a BBQ and live music.
