On the Hill: Chest-Deep Powder at Northstar

    BreakdownJoin Tahoe ‘On the Hill’ reporter Jenna Andrews for a great powder run down the backside at Northstar. Low visibility and wet snow conditions exist, ski with caution and be aware of low base conditions. Stick with friends when skiing and riding trees as heavy snow conditions exist.

    Northstar official report: 1-2″ fresh snow last night and 12″ in the past 24 hours.

    Field report: Wet heavy 1-2″ on upper mountain. Rainy conditions at lower mountain creating wet and sticky condtions. Sun is poking out of the clouds for a gorgeous snowy day at the resort!

    Weather: High of 37 and Low of 27 degrees. A 20% chance of snow showers. Cloudy with a high of 37 degrees. Northwest winds around 5 mph. Sunny skies after 11 a.m.

    Liftline status: No lines at Vista, Tahoe Zephyr Express and Backside.

    Snowcast: According to NOAA there is a slight chance of rain and snow showers with a 20% chance of precipitation. Partly sunny, with a high near 43. Northwest wind around 5 mph.
