On the Hill: Calm Before the Storm at Heavenly
  • On the Hill, brought to you by the Tahoe Center for Orthopedics, brings you a video report showcasing Tahoe’s ski conditions every day.

Today’s activity: Join Tahoe ‘On the Hill’ reporter Brian Hamilton as he takes a freezing run at Heavenly. Bring some warm layers and hand warmers! Minimal crowds this morning and nice groomers. Again very cold though, dress accordingly! Also there is a chance winds will pick up this afternoon and affect lift operations as the storm moves in.

Heavenly official report: 0″ new snow in past 24 hours.

Field report: No new snow, but nice grooming and 2 new groomed runs.

Weather: Sunny and very cold. Just 8 degrees at the summit, but felt even colder.

Liftline status: Small crowd at the gondola this morning. Tamarack Express has small lines once you get off the gondola.

Snowcast: Heavenly is predicted to get 9-15 inches tonight. Tomorrow will look very different from today. Bring the fat skis!
