    Award-winning Chef Rocco DiSpirito is the featured Celebrity Chef this year at the South Lake Tahoe Food and Wine Festival.

    The fifth annual “South Lake Tahoe Food and Wine Festival” arrives at Harrah’s and Harveys Lake Tahoe, Oct. 18 and 19, for an autumn weekend of great food, fine wine and high spirits.

    Award-winning Chef Rocco DiSpirito is the featured celebrity chef this year, hosting several key events. Among his many popular TV series over the years, Rocco has also recently starred in shows such as “Restaurant Divided,” on the Food Network and “Now Eat This! with Rocco DiSpirito.”  He also starred in his own reality TV series, “Rocco’s Dinner Party.”  Author of ten highly acclaimed cookbooks, Chef DiSpirito’s best seller, “The Pound A Day Diet,” reached #1 on the New York Times best seller list.  The multi-talented chef is also the author of the #1 New York Times best-selling series, “Now Eat This.”Chef DiSpirito began his culinary studies at the Culinary Institute of America and by age 20 was working in the kitchens of legendary chefs around the world.  He was voted Food & Wine Magazine’s “Best New Chef,” named People Magazine’s “Sexiest Chef Alive” and was the first chef to appear on Gourmet Magazine’s cover as “America’s Most Exciting Young Chef.”  His 3-Star restaurant Union Pacific was a New York City culinary landmark for many years.

    2014 also marks the return of celebrity Chef Mark Estee to the Food and Wine Festival.  Chef Estee’s résumé runs deep with stages in some of the world’s best kitchens, including Gary Danko, Lespinasee and Chez Panisse.  A Northern Nevada celebrity, he currently owns several popular eateries in Nevada and California, including Campo Reno, Campo Mammoth and Chez Louie inside the Nevada Museum of Art.

    • Whiskey Tasting – Harveys The Sage Room – 3 to 4 pm
    • Marcus Johnson “Flo” Wine Tasting – The Summit at Harrah’s – 4 to 5 pm
    • President’s Dinner with Rocco DiSpirito – Harveys 19 Kitchen • Bar – 5 to 7 pm
    • Chef on Stage: Chef Rocco DiSpirito – Harrah’s South Shore Room – 8 to 9:30 pm


    Sunday October 19 Farewell Brunch – Hosted by Rocco DiSpirito and Mark Estee – Harrah’s Forest Buffet – 9 a.m. to 1 pm
