On the Hill: Hike to Angora Lakes
  • On the Hill Summer, brought to you by The Steadman Clinic and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, brings you a video report about a different Lake Tahoe adventure every day.

Today’s activity: On the Hill: Hike to Angora Lakes.

About the hike: Grab the family and take this quick hike up to Angora Lakes, where you can rent water craft, drink lemonade and take a dip in these sweet lakes. To get there from south shore’s Hwy 50/89 junction, drive three miles north on Hwy 89, turning left at Fallen Leaf Lake Road. Turn left at Tahoe Mtn. Road; drive a short distance before turning right at the Angora Ridge Road. Continue three miles until the road ends at the paved parking lot.

Today’s weather: If you’re here, you know this is the perfect summer weather for Lake Tahoe. If you’re not, well, sorry. Today we’ll see mid 70s again, with winds from 5 to 10 mph and no moisture other than that beautiful blue lake. Enjoy! — National Weather Service
