On the Hill: Fishing Avalanche Lake
  • On the Hill Summer, brought to you by The Steadman Clinic and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, brings you a video report about a different Lake Tahoe adventure every day.

    Today’s activity: Fishing Avalanche Lake.

About the lake: Today Michelle hikes up Pyramid Creek Trail off Hwy 50 to do some fishing at Avalanche Lake. It takes a couple hours to hike up over Horsetail Falls to get to Avalanche, but for fishing in the solitude and beauty of the Sierra Nevada’s there’s nothing like it. Enjoy that brown trout..

Today’s weather: The whole week is looking at temps in the low 80s with light breezes and no rain in the forecast. And that is summer in Lake Tahoe. — National Weather Service
