On the Hill: Hike to Cascade Falls
  • On the Hill Summer, brought to you by The Steadman Clinic and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, brings you a video report about a different Lake Tahoe adventure every day.

Today’s activity: Hike to Cascade Falls.

About the hike: Head up to Bayview Trailhead right near Emerald Bay and you’ll find a sweet little hike to Cascade Falls. It’s just ¾ mile to the falls, where more options can be found.  There is some climb and rocky portions so maybe not totally kid friendly, but it’s still not too far. Views of Cascade Lake and Lake Tahoe await at the falls, and plenty of water even though the falls aren’t at peak flows.

Today’s weather: The whole week is looking at temps in the low 80s with light breezes and no rain in the forecast. And that is summer in Lake Tahoe. — National Weather Service
