On the Hill: Fly Fishing the Carson River
  • On the Hill Summer, brought to you by The Steadman Clinic and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, brings you a video report about a different Lake Tahoe adventure every day.

Today’s activity: Fly fishing the Carson River.

About the ride: The fish were biting as Dylan Silver took On the Hill to a sweet spot on the Carson River. While flows are little low, the temps are great, the fish are hungry and the scenery is gorgeous. To get to Hope Valley, head south out of South Lake Tahoe on Hwy 89 to Hwy 88. The Carson River runs all along Hwy 88. For more info on fishing in the Lake Tahoe area, check out our fishing guide.

Today’s weather: There’s a good chance of thunderstorms today in Hope Valley, and the humidity is high as a result. Temps are in the 80s, but will feel a bit muggy for this area. — National Weather Service
