On the Hill: Mountain biking Castle Rock Loop
  • On the Hill Summer, brought to you by The Steadman Clinic and the Steadman Philippon Research Institute, brings you a video report about a different Lake Tahoe adventure every day.

Today’s activity: Mountain biking the Castle Rock Loop.

Conditions: A beautiful June morning at Lake Tahoe makes for perfect riding conditions. This trail is windy, fast and smooth with plenty of opportunities to try features like logs and jumps. To get to the trail off of Kingsbury Grade, point your GPS to 433 Maryanne Drive, Toiyabe National Forst, Stateline NV 89449 to find the trailhead in the residential area.

Today’s weather: We’ve got some weather moving in today; just a high of 54 with a 50 percent chance of rain. Wednesday however is going to be a perfect 73 degrees so maybe wait for a nice midweek break to check out this run. — National Weather Service
