Still skeptical that Lake Tahoe ski resorts benefited from the recent wave of winter weather? Well if it’s number you’re after, check this out. Heavenly Resort opened 40 new runs since the recent storm dumped 36 inches of snow throughout the region. Liz Batman of snow.com reported:

The mountain ops team worked around the clock yesterday to assess every run at Heavenly to see what was safe to open, and we’re stoked to share that we were able to open 40 MORE RUNS today! This brings our total run count to 64.

Included in the new terrain are some favorite black diamonds – Ellie’s Swing and Lower Ellie’s, Waterfall, Bohemian Grove and Little Dipper. In addition, we opened some great blue cruisers like Stagecoach, Emily’s Run and High Five. A lot of the new open runs are not groomed either, so there’s powder to chase down.
