Take a beautiful Tahoe drive out to El Dorado County for Bring Out the Barrel, a wine event hosted by the El Dorado Winery Association. Enjoy two days of wine tasting, straight from the barrel, this month Jan. 28 and Jan. 29. Click here to view a map of El Dorado Wine Country.  The Tahoe Daily Tribune reports:

El Dorado Winery Association will host the annual Bring Out the Barrel wine-tasting event 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 28 and 29. The event is a self-guided tour of 27 wineries in and around the Sierra Foothills of El Dorado County. 

Those attending will get a special preview of wines that are about to be bottled, by tasting them straight from the barrel. There will also be an opportunity to taste varietals that are can be purchased and enjoyed now.

In addition, the weekend will feature learning more about winemaking from the vintners themselves, sales on wine futures, light appetizers and demonstrations, plus the Good Wine Hunting Treasure Hunt drawing. Five winners will be receive two tickets to EDWA’s upcoming Passport event.
