Holiday in HistoryThe annual event at the memorable Lake Tahoe Historical Society Museum steps back in time to celebrate a Victorian-themed holiday, complete with a Victorian-style Christmas tree, exhibits and live docent tours in the historic cabin adjacent to the museum. December 7-9, 2012
Festival of Trees and Lights
This multi-day, family oriented festival sponsored by the Barton Foundation, with proceeds to benefit the Barton Community Clinic. November 29 – December 2 2012
Barton Auxiliary Holiday Faire
This annual local favorite features crafters, artists and the famous Barton Auxiliary cheese balls. The proceeds help fund the Barton Community Clinic and other health care needs in the community. November 4th, 2012 9am-3pm
Ride the Polar Express
Youngsters will ride a bus to the Festival of Trees and Lights while enjoying hot cocoa in their jammies.
Valhalla Holiday Gala
Enjoy an elegant evening of champagne, hors d’ouevres, fine wines and dinner while enjoying the ambiance of the historic Valhalla Grand Hall. Musicians play festive music while a fire roars in the 40-foot natural stone fireplace. A silent auction will be held. Evening attire is recommended.
Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Race
Race your heart out at Heavenly Mountain Resort’s annual Sweetheart Race February 16th, 2013 at the California Base Lodge, 3860 Saddle Road. Race for or with that extra special someone for a chance to win big prizes.
North American Freeskiiing Championships at Kirkwood
In Kirkwood Mountain Resort’s biggest event of the year, the best skiers in North America will tackle the forbidden terrain of The Cirque. Watch as some of the world’s best skiers drop off massive cliffs towering about the Devil’s Corral. This years Freeskiing Championships will be held at Kirkwood on the 27th of February, 2013
Lake Tahoe WinterFest Gay and Lesbian Ski Week
The Nevada Gay and Lesbian Visitor and Convention Bureau presents the 15th annual Lake Tahoe Winterfest Gay and Lesbian Ski Week. The event includes world-class skiing and nightly entertainment to accommodate skiers and non-skiers alike. All are welcome.
Pond Skimming Championship
Watch as skiers and snowboarders attempt to cross a 60-foot pond at the Pond Skimming Championship at Adventure Peak at the top of the Heavenly Gondola. The events are free to enter and open to all levels of skiers and snowboarders who aren’t afraid to get wet.
