Lake Tahoe Summer Events
Wondering what all the fuss is about this weekend?
Lake Tahoe summer events come in all shapes and sizes; from the weekend artist market at Kings Beach State Park, recognizable by the lovely white tents and loads of incredible hand-crafted treasures, to the Jam to the Dam stand-up paddle board invitational, to the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival at Sand Harbor State Park that keeps the park open late and has become the quintessential Tahoe evening summer picnic outing.
If you’re into serious sporting events, the Reno-Tahoe Odyssey century run might be the grueling, team-building type of multi-day sporting event you’ve been looking for. Or try the Great Lake Tahoe Bike Race towards the end of the summer, circling the lake via bicycle with hundreds of others, novice to pro, in the incredible summer sunshine. If you dig the wooden boat scene, you’ll find no match for the Concours d’Elegance and Wooden Boat Week, an annual boater’s weekend in paradise. You’ll also find a smattering of celebrity golf tournies at the golf courses round the lake, if you’d rather walk the green than hike the brown. Register to sail the Trans-Tahoe Regatta, or find a lovely picnic spot to watch the race from the shoreline.
Don’t forget the fireworks displays, spanning the perimeter of the lake and the three or four days around the 4th of July, because the fireworks, music and drink specials are beyond patriotic. There’s also the Outdoor Summer Concert Series at Harvey’s Stateline, a great way to see some of your favorite bands with an incredible sunset and all-inclusive, resort-style accommodations. Or spend the weekend admiring classic cars for Hot August Nights, maybe even cruising your own classic around the lake with one of the organized Tahoe cruises.
Whatever your pleasure, you’ll find a related summer event at Lake Tahoe. Check our event calendar for complete listings.
