North Lake Tahoe Shopping Guide

By Tahoe Staff | Thursday, January 21, 2016

Come on! Shop to your heart's content in the towns along the north part of the lake! North Lake Tahoe shopping is fun and varied.

The Tahoe City shopping scene is known for exceptional boutiques and upscale shops, including some of the finest locally made jewelry in the Tahoe basin. Tahoe City shopping also affords an opportunity to make a day of it: spend a few hours browsing the boutiques near the waterfront, then sit back and enjoy mojitos or margaritas under a lake-view umbrella. If you’re looking for a new bathing suit and some kitschy flip flops, head to the Kings Beach surf shops where the beach shops back right onto the lake. During the summer, you’ll also find a thriving crafters’ market most weekends set up right outside Kings Beach State Park.

And as the cold weather moves in, the North Lake Tahoe shopping scene switches over to winter gear, parading skis and snowboards up and down the sidewalks and filling the display windows with everything you’ll need to stay warm and look the part during the incredible winter season at Lake Tahoe. Head over to do some Incline Village shopping, catching a glimpse of some historic Tahoe architecture along Lake Tahoe Boulevard as you make your way through bike shops, resort wear boutiques and the occasional art gallery.

While you’re here, check out the local hardware store for barbecues, snow shovels and other essentials, and learn a bit of Tahoe history as you check out. Whatever you’d like to shop for, North Lake Tahoe shop merchants are ready and waiting!
